Featured DVD Review: Wrong Cops
April 14th, 2014
Wrong Cops is the latest film from Quentin Dupieux, the director who brought us Rubber, a film about a serial killer tire. I really liked that movie, but I will admit the target audience might be low. Is this movie just as good? Is it more accessible to moviegoers?

Limited Releases: Her and Now
December 20th, 2013
There are not a huge number of limited releases on this week's list, but all of the ones that have more than a few reviews on Rotten Tomatoes have outstanding reviews. Her isn't earning the best reviews, but it does have the best combined reviews and buzz and has the best shot at mainstream success. The Past could also expand wide enough to earn some measure of mainstream success, if it can translate its reviews into Awards Season glory.

DVD and Blu-ray Releases for June 11th, 2013
June 12th, 2013

There are more TV on DVD releases, including a couple that were contenders for Pick of the Week. This includes Burn Notice: Season Six, but the screener is late, so I'm holding off. Enter the Dragon gets an Anniversary Edition Blu-ray and it is a contender. However, in the end I went with The Newsroom: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray Combo Pack.

Limited Releases: Going Mental for Limited Releases
March 29th, 2013
It's kind of a mixed week when it comes to limited releases. There are quite a few of them, but not many that have good reviews and strong buzz. The best of these is Blancanieves, which I thought opened previously. There are some with good reviews and some with buzz, but not a lot that scream hit. The Place Beyond the Pines probably has the best chance at hitting major milestones.
