Weekend projections: Captain America beats back The Monkey
February 23rd, 2025

The Monkey will post the second-best debut ever for Neon this weekend, hitting around $14.2 million on debut. That’s a shade behind our Friday-morning prediction, but a good result nonetheless. It won’t be enough to topple Captain America: Brave New World from the top of the box office chart, as the Marvel hero will hit $30.7 million on its second weekend, according to Disney.

Osgood Perkins’ follow-up to 2024’s indie hit Longlegs lands in theaters this weekend. This weekend brings on two more films making their first foray into cinemas, including Captain America: Brave New World.
