Will These Limited and Virtual Releases have Audiences in the Palm of Their Hands?
July 9th, 2020
I am not hopeful about this weekend’s box office chances. Granted, there are some movies earning stellar reviews, but none of them have a hope of box office success. Weekend Wrap-Up: Busting Makes the Box Office Feel Good
July 7th, 2020
Last week, Disney dominated the chart with re-releases. This week, it was Sony’s turn. This past weekend, Deadline has Ghostbusters earning first place with a reported weekend haul of $550,000 in 622 theaters giving it a five-day box office of $656,000. This could be a good omen for Afterlife, which may or may not come out in March. Sony also had the second place film, Jumanji: The Next Level, which added $300,000 in 220 theaters over the weekend for a total of $317.3 million so far.
