Theater Averages: Kingdom Crowned Leader of Theater Average Chart

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom led the way on the theater average chart with an average of $33,078, putting it ahead of Incredibles 2’s sophomore stint score of $18,219. The King was the best of the new limited releases, with an average of $14,525 in two theaters. Finally, 2001: A Space Odyssey returned to the $10,000 club with an average of $12,989. The 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack is coming out in October.

Theater Averages: 2001 is Louder than the Competition

2001: A Space Odyssey returned to the top of the theater average chart earning an average of $18,969 in 5 theaters. The best new release was Hearts Beat Loud, which was right behind with an average of $18,631 in four theaters. Won’t You Be My Neighbor? was next with an average of $16,394 in 29 theaters. It won’t need to expand to earn more than $1 million domestically, and it will expand over the coming weeks. The final film in the $10,000 club is the overall box office leader, Ocean’s 8, with an average of $10,038.

American Animals easily topped the theater average chart earning an average of $33,698 in four theaters. The only other film in the $10,000 club was 2001: A Space Odyssey, which earned an average of $14,042 in five theaters during its third weekend of release.

The Gospel According to Andre earned an average of $11,951 in four theaters. First Reformed remained in the $10,000 club with an average of $10,064 in 29 theaters during its second weekend of release.

The re-release of 2001: A Space Odyssey topped the theater average chart by a huge margin earning just over $200,000 in four theaters for an average of $50,690. The overall box office leader, Deadpool 2, was next with an average of $28,859 in over 4,000 theaters. First Reformed was right behind with an average of $24,391 in just 4 theaters.
