International Box Office: Bad Boys Battle in Brazil

Bad Boys for Life remained in first place on the international box office chart, again, this time earning 31.21 million on 13,180 screens in 81 markets for totals of $143.09 million internationally and $291.15 million worldwide. The film has now made more internationally than the first film in the franchise earned worldwide. The film’s biggest new release of the weekend came in Brazil where it earned first place with $1.71 million on 810 screens. The film’s biggest holdover was France where it was down just 39% to $2.75 million on 614 screens over the weekend for a two-week total of $8.10 million.

1917 remained in second place with $21.9 million in 52 markets for totals of $130.6 million internationally and $249.7 million worldwide. The film debuted in second place in Russia with $1.78 million on 848 screens over the weekend for a four-day opening of $2.21 million.

Dolittle was right behind with $18.3 million in 63 markets for totals of $72.1 million internationally and $127.2 million worldwide. The film had some reason to celebrate earning first place in a couple of major markets: Mexico, where it earned $3.50 million on 930 screens and Germany, where it had a total opening of $3.31 million on 569. It had to settle for second place in Italy with $2.22 million on 391 screens.

Little Women landed in the top five for the first time earning fourth place with $8.02 million in 63 markets for totals of $64.61 million internationally and $163.44 million worldwide. Its best new market was Russia, where it earned third place with $1.10 million in 871 theaters. Its best market overall is the U.K., where it has earned $26.02 million after six weeks of release.

Jumanji: The Next Level rounded out the top five, again, with $6.11 million on 5,086 screens in 84 markets for totals of $464.49 million internationally and $755.71 million worldwide. The film wasn’t supposed to earn a place in the top five this weekend, but this will surely be the last time it appears on this chart.
