Theater Averages: Beast’s Reign Continues with $21,479

It was a bad week for limited releases, as the only two films to top $10,000 on the per theater chart were also the two biggest hits on the weekend chart. Beauty and the Beast remained in first place with an average of $21,479, while Power Rangers were well back with an average of $10,913.
We only have numbers for four new limited releases and none of them did well. Granted, nearly all of them were playing in way too many theaters for a limited release. Phillauri earned an average of $3,527 in 74 theaters, while Slamma Jamma was right behind with $3,361 in 502. Wilson missed the Mendoza Line with an average of $1,085 in 310 theaters. The only film not playing in dozens of theaters was The Levelling; in fact, it was only playing in one theater and sadly only managed $160.
