Synopsis
On the Greek island of Hydra in 1960, Leonard Cohen, then a struggling and unknown fiction writer, and Marianne Ihlen, a single mother with a young son, became part of community of expat artists, writers and musicians. Never-before-seen footage make for a portrait of an idyllic 1960’s bohemia. It was a time that left a lasting imprint on both Marianne and Leonard, whose friendship would last another fifty years before their deaths in 2016.

Mr. Klein, a 40-year old re-release, earned first place on the theater average chart during its second weekend of release with $18,546 in one theater. Up next was The Bad Guys: Reign of Chaos with an average of $14,418 in two theaters. The final film in the $10,000 club was Hustlers, which barely got there earning an average of $10,210 in 3,250 theaters.

Spider-Man: Far From Home led the way on the theater average chart with an average of $19,978. This is even more impressive, because it was a Tuesday opening. It earned a theater average of nearly $40,000 over its six day debut. The only other film to reach the $10,000 club was Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love with an average of $11,235 in four theaters.

It’s a really slow week for limited releases. It is so slow that I had to relax my normal limitations for what makes the list and there is still barely anything to talk about. The best movie on this week’s list is My Days of Mercy, which is also earning the loudest buzz. However, it is playing on Video on Demand, so almost no one will see it in theaters.
