Synopsis
When the Primm family moves to New York City, their young son Josh struggles to adapt to his new school and new friends. All of that changes when he discovers Lyle — a singing crocodile who loves baths, caviar and great music-living in the attic of his new home. The two become fast friends, but when Lyle’s existence is threatened by evil neighbor Mr. Grumps, the Primm’s must band together with Lyle’s charismatic owner, Hector P. Valenti, to show the world that family can come from the most unexpected places and there’s nothing wrong with a big singing crocodile with an even bigger personality.

Weekend predictions: Black Panther will break November record, but maybe not the $200-million barrier
November 11th, 2022
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever earned $28 million from previews on Thursday, the 15th-best preview figure in history, and notably higher than the $25.2 million earned by the original Black Panther back in 2018. That sets it on a path to break the record for the biggest weekend in November, currently held by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire with $158 million, but our model thinks topping $200 million will be a hard task.

Weekend predictions: Halloween Ends eyes $50-million opening
October 14th, 2022
After 44 years and 14 films, the Halloween franchise ends this weekend with the appropriately-titled Halloween Ends. Of course, horror franchises have a habit of rising from the grave, so the demise of the franchise is a very tentative prediction. Its box office prospects look a little clearer though, with an opening around $50 million looking very much on the cards.

Weekend predictions: Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile favorite going into weekend
October 7th, 2022
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a straight up live action (with a touch of CGI) family film in theaters. Arguably the last one was Clifford the Big Red Dog, which opened with $16.6 million in November last year. Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile is hoping for a debut somewhere in that ballpark this weekend, but, while it’s a strong favorite to come top of chart, our model thinks it might struggle to get there. Amsterdam provides it with some competition, but Smile is looking like the only other film that still has a shout at beating Lyle and topping the chart.
