Home Market Releases for March 3rd, 2020
March 5th, 2020
It’s a terrible week on the home market with almost no prime new releases. In fact, if there weren’t a couple of late screeners to talk about and several secondary VOD titles, the main list would be very short. The week is so weak that Jojo Rabbit is really the only choice for Pick of the Week, even though it came out about a month ago.

Home Market Releases for August 1st, 2017
August 2nd, 2017
There is no monster hit coming out this week, but that doesn’t mean there are no new DVD / Blu-rays worth picking up. In fact, there are six Pick of the Week contenders. This includes Slither: Collector's Edition, which took home the title in a close race. There are also two co-winners of the Puck of the Week for best Canadian release, Colossal on Blu-ray Combo Pack and I am the Blues on DVD.

Featured TV on DVD Review: Divorce: Season One
May 8th, 2017
This HBO comedy has an impressive cast, but its reviews were merely good and its ratings were weak compared to most other HBO shows. It did well enough to get a second season, but will audiences come back? Will those who missed it the first time want to check it out on the home market?

Limited and VOD Releases: Lovers of Limited Releases
May 5th, 2017
It is one of those weeks where it is hard to find a film with high box office potential. Last Men in Aleppo is the best movie, but as a documentary, it likely won’t expand significantly. Chuck has a great cast, but it’s reviews are merely good. Maybe The Lovers will do the best.

2014 Awards Season: WGA: Nominees Have Stories to Tell
January 5th, 2014
WGAs announced their nominations this weekend and there were a couple of surprises to talk about. The top of that list is 12 Years a Slave, which was deemed ineligible because it wasn't written under WGA jurisdiction. This makes using the WGAs as an Oscar guide less reliable. On the other hand, several Oscar favorites showed up as well, including American Hustle, Nebraska, and others that have picked up major nominations this year.

Featured Blu-ray / DVD Review: Killer Joe
December 31st, 2012
Killer Joe came out in limited release in July. It earned good buzz initially and it started really well, but as it expanded, it struggled. Granted, it still managed to hit $1 million, but it didn't come close to expanding wide. Was it as good as its opening couple weekends? Or was there a reason it only thrived in very limited release?
