Featured DVD Review: Sabrina Down Under
February 5th, 2017
I put in a request for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine The Complete Series, but Sabrina Down Under arrived instead. This TV movie is the second such movie from Sabrina the Teenage Witch, the first being Sabrina Goes to Rome. Will it please fans of the show? Does it have a grander scale than the average episode?

2016 Preview: April
April 1st, 2016
March was a really good month, for the most part. There were a few bombs, but the two biggest films, Zootopia and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, both beat expectations by significant margins, so overall the box office was better than expected. Unfortunately, April is a mess, which makes prognosticating really tough. Every single week has at least one film that either moved, switched from wide to limited release, or disappeared entirely. The Jungle Book appears to be the biggest film of the year, but The Huntsman: Winter's War could also be a $100 million hit. Sadly, last April was led by Furious 7, which earned more than $350 million at the box office. That's very likely more than both The Jungle Book and The Huntsman: Winter's War will make combined. Worse still, there were only four weekends in April last year, meaning the month ends by going head-to-head with The Avengers: Age of Ultron. By the time the month ends, 2016's lead over 2015 might be gone. Let's hope it is not that bad.

Featured DVD Review: Sabrina - Secrets of a Teenage Witch: A Witch and the Werewolf
September 7th, 2014
Sabrina, the Teenage Witch has been around for more than 50 years, starting as a comic book character in the 1960s. The character and its world have been turned into TV shows in the 1990s starring Melissa Joan Hart, which is probably the incarnation most people know the best. This time last year, the latest installment in the long-running franchise debuted. It is a digitally animated series with Ashley Tisdale providing the voice for the titular witch. This week, a DVD is coming out. Is it worth checking out for fans of Sabrina? Or is it best to stick with some of the previous versions?
