Featured TV on DVD Review: Blue Bloods: Season Four
September 8th, 2014
Blue Bloods' ratings improved last season, at least with respect to the rest of CBS's lineup. It was no longer the lowest rated show on CBS that earned a renewal. It wasn't even its lowest rated show on Friday night. (On a side note, I think Hawaii Five-0 might be ending soon. It's ratings are low and I seriously doubt it is a cheap show to make.) Overall, the ratings are very reliable. Is the quality of the show as reliable as its ratings are?

DVD and Blu-ray Releases for October 1st, 2013
October 1st, 2013
This list is a little short and a little late, because WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE INTERNET? The past three days, the internet has been slow as hell. There are a number of interesting releases coming out this week, several of them have screeners that are on their way. Unfortunately, only one screener did arrive on time. Fortunately, it was The Little Mermaid on Blu-ray Combo Pack and it, or the 3D Combo Pack, are worthy of Pick of the Week.

Featured TV on DVD Review: Blue Bloods: Season Three
September 9th, 2013
Blue Bloods is the lowest rated show on CBS that earned a renewal. Compared to the network's average, the show's ratings were weak, even for a Friday night show. The viewership numbers are strong, but the average age is high enough that the large viewership doesn't translate into strong ratings in the prime demographic, which usually determines what shows stay and go. This one survived another year. Will fans celebrate this? Or has the quality slipped making cancellation inevitable?
