Theater counts: The Croods remains unchallenged

The Croods: A New Age

The three widest films from last week remain the same this week as The Croods: A New Age is once again the only film playing in over 2,000 theaters. Half Brothers and Freaky switch positions this week, and are showing in 1,386 and 1,235 venues respectively. Debuting this week from Bleecker Street is Wild Mountain Thyme, arriving in 450 locations. After a string of re-releases during the past few weeks, Walt Disney is quiet this week in comparison, holding over only The Empty Man, The New Mutants and Die Hard—the last of which was re-released last week. Although we do not yet have a theater count, next week we see Fatale and Monster Hunter open wide. Fatale will be the first wide release from Lionsgate since I Still Believe debuted back in March.
