DEG Watched At Home Chart: Trolls Tower over the Rest

July 16, 2020

Trolls World Tour

The pandemic continues to impact the DEG Watched at Home chart, which is little changed from last week. Trolls World Tour remains in first place on the chart and Universal is the top studio, this time with six entries in the top 20, up from five last week.

The Outpost rises to second place in its first full week on the home market. The action movie recreates the Battle of Kamdesh in the Afghanistan War, and was originally set for a special event release. Its performance on the DEG chart suggests it might have worked as a wide release. On the other hand, perhaps it is only doing this well due to the lack of real competition.

Yellowstone has the next three entries in the same relative order they were the past two weeks: three, one, and then two.

If we were to compress Yellowstone into one entry, then The Invisible Man would have earned fourth place and Sonic the Hedgehog would have rounded out the top five.

The only “new” entries on the chart this week are recent movies that have picked up additional business as younger audiences have been forced to stay home more: Spies in Disguise and Dolittle both fit the profile of films that parents might buy for kids who are tiring of Frozen and Jumanji.
