Synopsis

Seth and Jonah are murderous twins who share an evil kinship. Damned from the moment of their births, the brothers possess a gruesome talent for telekinesis - a power they use in the most horrific ways imaginable. DVD and Blu-ray Releases for May 24th, 2011

May 24th, 2011

While we have two first run releases coming out this week, the number one seller according to Amazon.com is a specialty release, and the bulk of the interesting titles are Blu-ray catalog releases. Granted, one of the first run releases nearly hit $100 million at the box office, but this is still a really bad sign in terms of overall sales. As far as the best of the best, that's a race between The Kids in the Hall: Complete Series Megaset and Platoon on Blu-ray. I'm going with the former for Pick of the Week, but make sure to check the price, as buying Death Comes to Town and the old Megaset might be cheaper. More...

Featured DVD Review: After Dark Originals: Double-Shot: Fertile Ground and Seconds Apart

May 20th, 2011

After Dark started out buying low-budget horror films and distributing them as part of their Horrorfest limited run festivals. And while their hit to miss ratio was better than average for the low-budget horror genre, they still had too many misses to be a complete success. Now they've moved on to include original films that they are producing, not just distributing and the first two, Husk and Prowl, were better than expected. Can they keep their streak going with Fertile Ground and Seconds Apart? More...

Limited Releases are Biutiful

January 28th, 2011

This week's collection of limited releases includes a film that is already a worldwide hit, one that earned two Oscar nominations, one opening in more than 250 theaters, and others. It will be interesting to see if the critically acclaimed films can find audiences here, or if the wider releases can fill all of those theaters. More...
