Synopsis
Billy Bloom is one-of-a-kind: a fabulous, glitter-bedecked, gender-bending teenager whose razor-sharp wit is matched only his by his outrageous, anything-goes fashion sense. When his glamorous mother is forced to send him to live with his straight-laced father, Billy finds himself a diva-out-of-water at his new ultra-conservative high school. Undaunted by the bullies who don't understand him, the fearless Billy sets out to make a big statement in his own inimitable way: challenging the school's reigning mean girl for the title of homecoming queen.

Home Market Releases for June 5th, 2018
June 4th, 2018
This is a busier week than usual on the home market, but that’s only because there are a higher than usual number of box office flops coming out the same week. The biggest box office hit of the week is A Wrinkle in Time, which did okay here, but bombed internationally. I’m still waiting for a screener to see if it is at least worth a rental. As for Pick of the Week contenders, there’s My Hero Academia: Season Two, Part Two and Thoroughbreds on Blu-ray. In the end, I went with Thoroughbreds, but both are worth owning.

Limited and VOD Releases: Love Limited Releases for More Than Just a Day
January 12th, 2018
Awards Season is in full swing, so the moviegoers most likely to head out to see a limited release are preoccupied with the latest surprise / snub. This has resulted in a terrible week for limited releases. It’s so bad that if we stuck with our usual rule of needing 10 reviews to be listed here, there would only be a few movies. Even being more generous, there’s not a lot to talk about this week. The best movie is Lover For a Day, while Saturday Church is its only real competition.
