Prada is a Tight Fit in First Place
January 7th, 2007
None of half-a-dozen new releases were able to make a big splash on rental charts, but that doesn't mean there wasn't anything interesting to report. Every film in the top five was within $540,000 on each other with The Devil Wears Prada claiming top spot with $6.87 million. More...DVD Releases for December 26, 2006

It's Boxing Day up here in Canada, and for those Americans who don't know what that is ... I can't help you. I have no idea what Boxing Day is, other than the start of post-Christmas sales. While there are a lot of people shopping this week, there is still a huge downturn in the DVD market and little of what I would consider must have DVDs. The best of a weak bunch is The Descent - Original Unrated Cut - Buy from Amazon, but while I recommend picking it up, it doesn't reach the level of a DVD Pick of the Week. On the other hand, we do have a Canadian DVD Puck of the Week, Eh! - Bon Cop, Bad Cop - Buy from Amazon.ca. More...Ricky Bobby Laps Competition
August 7th, 2006
It's August, but the weekend box office didn't miss a beat.
In fact the overall box office climbed 6.3% to $140 million. That was up 21.6% from the same weekend last year, lifting 2006's lead over 2005 to 6%.

Movie Website Updates for July 29 - August 4
August 4th, 2006
Third week in a row where the number of sites featured on this list has topped 30. With such a busy week it would take something different to win the award, and that's something Michel Gondry excels at delivering giving The Science of Sleep - Official Site the Weekly Website Award. More...Restless Nights for Will Ferrell
August 3rd, 2006
It's the first weekend in August and studios are hoping the dog days of summer can be pushed back at least one more week.
This shouldn't be a problem as the odds-on favorite to win the weekend race is tracking better and better by the day, while we also have one of the best reviewed wide releases of the year hitting theatres tomorrow.

2006 Preview: August
August 1st, 2006
July finally brought us the year's first truly monster his with Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, but outside that film, most of the month disappointed. With August being a bit of a dumping ground for films that didn't work out, the weakness in the box office should continue. Add in a few surprise hits last year and 2006 may have trouble keeping up with last years pace. More...Movie Website Updates for July 22 - July 28

Another big week for movie sites with several excellent entries. In this crowded field there were a lot of sites that showed promise and could be just one big update away from winning the award. But this week the best of the best was World Trade Center - Official Site. Let's hope that the movie can live up to the site. More...Movie Website Updates for July 15 - July 21
July 21st, 2006
Another busy week, but unlike last week there was no massive blockbuster launching its flash site. Two sites stood out this week, (not counting past winners), and they are wildly different both in terms of style and in terms of the movie they are selling: Accepted - Official Site and World Trade Center - Official Site. The former is goofy and seriously immature, while the latter is one of the most emotional sites I've ever seen. In was nearly a coin flip, but in the end I went with Accepted - Official Site, but I would be willing to bet the other site will win before the movie comes out. It seems a lot of people are starting their holidays early, but not this column as it's the busiest it's been in more than a month. Including in this list are a few newly released teaser trailers and a handful of flash sites, most of which are worth checking out. But the best of the best is the Running With Scissors - Official Site. More...Movie Website Updates for June 17th - June 23rd

It was a slow week it terms of major updates and that allowed the Fanboy in me to grant The Transformers - Official Site the gloriously premature Weekly Website Award. Let's hope the full site lives up to this title. More...Movie Website Updates for May 20 - May 26
May 26th, 2006
Not much this week in terms of new sites or updates and all the ones that are award-worthy have already won the weekly website award. The best of the rest is The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift - Official Site, but it certainly doesn't deserve to win the awards.
