Featured TV on DVD Review: Star Trek: The Next Generation: All Good Things

December 26th, 2014

Star Trek: The Next Generation comes to an end with All Good Things..., the two-hour series finale. Each of the past four seasons had a two-part storyarc that was released as a separate Blu-ray to the full-season Blu-ray. It makes sense to give this show's series finale a proper Blu-ray of its own, assuming the series ended on a high note. Is that the case? If so, does the Blu-ray do it justice? More...

Featured TV on DVD Review: Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season Seven

December 26th, 2014

Star Trek: The Next Generation's Blu-ray run ended this month. I already mentioned the Blu-ray as a possible holiday gift, but since I've reviewed every other season of this series, I thought it would be strange not to do a full featured review as well. Season seven is widely regarded as the worst season since season two, but it is as bad as that? Or are there still enough solid episodes that fans will want to complete their collection? More...

Featured TV on DVD Review: Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season Six

June 21st, 2014

This is the penultimate season for Star Trek: The Next Generation and the end of what most people would call the golden age of the seasons. (Season seven wasn't bad. It was better than the first two seasons, but it was certainly not as good as seasons three through six.) So what are the highlights of season six? Are there many lowlights? And is the Blu-ray worth upgrading to? More...

Featured TV on DVD Review: Star Trek: The Next Generation: Chain of Command

June 21st, 2014

Ever since The Best of Both Worlds came out, there has been a two-part episode released for each season of Star Trek: The Next Generation. For Season Six, they chose Chain of Command as the episode to elevate to is own release. Did that make the right choice? And is it worth the price to buy separately? More...

Featured TV on DVD Review: Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season Five

November 16th, 2013

We are more than halfway through the seven-year run of Star Trek: The Next Generation. The first two seasons were a little rough, but by season three and season four it had really hit its stride. How does season five compare? More...

Featured TV on DVD Review: Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season Four

July 24th, 2013

Star Trek: The Next Generation is one of the most successful syndicated shows of all time. It ran for seven seasons and was seen by millions every week. I've had a chance to review all three previous seasons. Season one was mostly mediocre, while season two had better highs, but worse lows. It was season three where the show reached its full potential. Is season four just as good? Is it even better? Or does it slip a little in quality? More...

Featured TV on DVD Review: Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season Three

April 22nd, 2013

Star Trek: The Next Generation ran for seven seasons and while the first two seasons were mixed, season three is widely regarded at the beginning of the classic period. Is this true? Or is it only good when compared to the first two seasons? More...

Featured TV on DVD Review: Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season Two

December 1st, 2012

Star Trek: The Next Generation lasted for seven seasons and for much of its run, it was considered the best Sci-fi series of its day. However, season one wasn't among its best seasons. In fact, it wasn't until the fifth / sixth episode, Where No One Has Gone Before, till we got a good episode and there are only about six others that are good. Granted, a lot of shows take a little while to find their footing. So does the show begin to shine in Season Two? Or does it take a step back? What about extras and the technical presentation? Do they warrant the high price? More...
