Theater counts: Universal’s Freaky debuts as this week’s widest release

Freaky is not only the sole new wide release this week, it also tops our theater count list, arriving in 2,472 locations. Let Him Go, last week’s widest release and box office champion, comes in just behind on 2,458 venues, which is a tiny increase from its opening week. Honest Thief and The War With Grandpa are still playing in over 2,000 theaters, at 2,217 and 2,145 respectively. Walt Disney keeps churning out the re-releases with this week’s feature film being Guardians of the Galaxy, playing in 1,560 locations.
