There's No Shame in Being Dirty

Only one film could even come close to hitting $10,000 and it blew right past it. A Dirty Shame earned $29,384 in its lone theatre in Baltimore. Obviously it helps that Baltimore is the home city of the film's director, John Waters.

This past week also saw some milestones reached for several Per Theatre Charts alumnus:

  • A couple of weeks ago Donnie Darko hit $1 million for its total run. (A figure that is about evenly split between its initial run and the release of the Director's Cut.
  • Also hitting $1 million was Home at the End of the World.
  • Maria Full of Grace hit the $5 million mark during the mid-week.
  • Garden State hit a rare milestone of $20 million. Although it peaked at the box office, it should still take have a couple more million dollar weekends in its future, meaning it should start climbing the All-Time Limited Release Charts soon.
  • One last film hit a major milestone this past week. Life of Brian made it to $20 million over the weekend. Granted, It earned more than 96.9% of its total box before its recent re-release. But it is still a milestone worth noting.
