Movie Website Updates for August 19 - August 25, 2007

August 25, 2007

After a few busy weeks in a row, there was a total collapse in the number of sites on this week's list. Not only are there only a couple dozen sites this week, nearly half of them are films that are coming out this week and most of those had no updates to report. This leaves us with no sites that are award-worthy, and precious few that have to potential to make it there in the coming weeks.

3:10 to Yuma - Official Site
Totally new look and all of the regular features were added this week. However, it still feels like an overstuffed placeholder site than a full site. I don't expect that to change.

Alien vs. Predator: Requiem - Official Site
Just the red band trailer, which earns its age restriction. It seems the filmmakers figured out you couldn't make a PG-13 movie out of two franchises that were R-rated.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - Official Site
There's a new trailer out there, but it's not on the site yet. Having seen it, it didn't sell me on the project any more than the teaser trailer did.

Balls of Fury - Official Site
Even more clips. Also, more poll and trivia questions.

Beowulf - Official Site
Forgot to mention the podcasts last time.

The Bothersome Man - Official Site
Just the synopsis, image gallery, and trailer, which is off site.

December Boys - Official Site
All the usual features plus two clips marked coming soon.

Dedication - Official Site
Just the synopsis and the trailer with the cast & crew bios marked coming soon.

Deep Water - Official Site
No real changes since the site was first on this list.

Eastern Promises - Official Site
All the basics are here, including a very effective trailer, but nothing that makes the site itself stand out.

Eye of the Dolphin - Official Site
All the usual features, but not enough style to sell the movie.

Hannah Takes the Stairs - Official Site
The site has the usual features, but it doesn't have a lot of style or even polish.

Hitman - Official Site
There's a new trailer, but I'm still not sold on the film. It feels like way too much style, not enough action.

Illegal Tender - Official Site
The usual features are here as well as a couple sections for extras. The first section is behind-the-scenes and it has several video clips while the music section has three songs and three videos.

Mr. Bean's Holiday - Official Site
This site looks a lot like the original site, but with less features.

The Nanny Diaries - Official Site
Just the basics without a lot of style. I kept expecting a full, flash site would come before the movie hits theaters, but that never happened.

P.S., I Love You - Official Site
Just the synopsis and the poster, but they have a long time to add more content before the movie opens in late December.

Resurrecting the Champ - Official Site
The basics are here, but he heart of the site are the video clips. Not only is the trailer here, but there are also 8 clips and a very short behind-the-scenes featurette.

Right at Your Door - Official Site
Just the synopsis, cast list, image gallery, and trailer. Nothing that truly makes it stand out.

September Dawn - Official Site
Almost no content at all, just a trailer and links.

Shine a Light - Official Site
The trailer is on the site. That's the good news. The bad news is the film was pushed back till some time in April. 2008.

Shoot 'Em Up - Official Site
There are two clips on the site now, but the sound is way too quite compared to the background sounds of the site.

Silk - Official Site
The poster and the trailer are now online.

War - Official Site
There are still bios that are missing. Outside the trailer remixer there's little in the way of extras, but at least there are enough video clips in the background to sell the movie reasonably well.
