Award Season - SAG Likes Little
January 28, 2007
The Screen Actors Guide were handed out tonight and while there are plenty of awards, only five dealt with theatrical releases.
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role
Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
Note and Reactions:
- Little Miss Sunshine's win was the only real surprise of the evening, and given its performance this award season it's not much of a shock.
- Every other winner is practically a lock to win an Oscar as well. In fact, if Helen Mirren doesn't win, someone should demand a recount.
- On a side note, Helen Mirren won to SAG awards tonight, one for The Queen and the other for the TV mini-series, Elizabeth I.
