Kung Fu Panda started its international run in third place with $20.46 million on 1521 screens in 9 markets. The film reportedly set records in a number of its smaller, Southeast Asian debuts while its brought in an impressive $8.26 million on 821 screens in Russia and $7.84 million on 632 screens in South Korea (including midweek numbers). Next up for the film is Australia and Mexico next weekend while it has major market opening throughout the summer.

  • The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian expanded into Australia and China over the weekend earning $4.28 million on 415 screens in the former and $3.89 million on 500 screens in the latter. Additionally, it earned $2.37 million on 718 screens during its third weekend in Japan and now has made $19.63 million in that market. Overall it earned $20.32 million on 4446 screens in 27 markets for a total of $101.25 million. It's only about halfway done its international run so far, and should reach $200 million with ease and $300 million with a little luck, while $500 million worldwide is not out of the question.
  • Whap Happens in Vegas... also reached $100 million since last week as it made $7.43 million on 3482 screens in 45 markets for a total of $109.08 million. However, it is running out of places left to open in and will fall off the charts shortly, but not before hitting $200 million worldwide.
  • Sarkar Raj opened in India and several other international markets scoring sixth place with $5.43 million on 1433 screens in 17 markets, which is about average for films aimed at this niche market.
  • The Magic Hour opened in first place in Japan and seventh overall with $4.82 million on 379 screens over the weekend.
  • 21 earned $4.57 million on 1579 screens in 49 markets for a total of $59.43 million. The film opened in France with $2.04 million on 294 screens while it fell nearly 50% during its second weekend in Japan adding $537,000 on 206 screens to its total of $2.40 million. It still has a couple major markets left to open in, and it could match its domestic total before it is done, but it will be close.
  • Superhero Movie jumped into the top ten with $3.50 million on 1158 screens in 10 markets for a total of $26.29 million, which is slightly more than it made domestically. It was aided this week by a third place opening in the U.K. with $1.68 million on 396 screens while it struggled in France placing sixth with $810,000 on 172 screens.
  • Iron Man landed in 10th place with $3.24 million on 2755 screens in 54 markets for a total of $247.00 million. By this next week it could have $250 million internationally, but by the weekend after that it will have fallen off the charts and won't return till it opens in Japan in September.
  • Made of Honour fell out of the top ten with $3.01 million on 1552 screens in 29 markets for a total of $35.09 million. The film opened in Italy this weekend and opens in France next weekend and continues its slow rollout till the end of summer.
  • You Don't Mess With The Zohan opened in 12th place with $2.07 million on 406 screens in 3 markets. These markets include Mexico, where it opened in first place with $1.99 million on 406 screens, which was the best ever for an Adam Sandler flick.
  • Prom Night reached the charts for the first time during its run with $1.82 million on 771 screens in 19 markets for a total of $6.63 million. The film earned $1.00 million on 285 screens during its first week in the U.K. reaching fourth place. It also reached fourth place in Germany, however, it only earned $282, 000 on 180 screens there.
  • Gomorrah rose to third place in Italy with $1.33 million on 349 screens for a total of $13.33 million.
  • Il Divo fell to fourth place in Italy and 15th place internationally with $1.29 million on 358 screens over the weekend and $4.72 million after two.
  • Speed Racer fell 55% to $1.23 million on 1676 screens in 33 markets for a total of $36.74 million after a month of release. This weekend it opens in Australia while it debuts in France next weekend and opens in Japan at the beginning of July. However, there's little hope that it will miraculously turn its box office run around at this point.
  • The Mist was the final film to reach $1 million on the international charts earning $1.05 million on 461 screens in 6 markets for a total of $24.21 million. It's not done its international run yet, in fact, it opens in the U.K. in July, but only its low production budget has saved it from being a financial bomb.
Welcome to the Sticks has fallen out of the top ten in France and will finish about 400,000 tickets short of Titanic's record. That is unless the studio tries to push it over the top.
