Movie Website Reviews for the Weekend of June 19th, 2009
June 20, 2009
Not a good week for movie websites, as the best of the best (Year One's Official Site) only manages to be above average for a wide release and without enough wow factor to rise to the level of the Weekly Website Award.
$9.99 - Official Site
The Baby Formula - Official Site
Brighton Rock - No Official Site
Dead Snow - Official Site
The Proposal - Official Site
Whatever Works - Official Site
Victoria Day - No Official Site
Year One - Official Site
No changes from the last time this site was featured on this column. It's effective, but it doesn't truly stand out.
Just the trailer, and links to Facebook and Twitter, neither of which I use. While the site itself is rather barren, there is a Blog that is a lot more active and fun to follow.
No official site, but that's not strange for re-releases.
Just the trailer.
I've found two site, the one above and this one, both of which are just re-directs to MySpace. While look, I found the for its site for its Australian release, and while there's not a whole lot there, it's worth checking out for the outtakes alone.
All you expect from a strong limited release site. The regular features are here (synopsis, bios, images, and trailer). Plus there is enough animation to not seem boring. On the other hand, there's no sound, which is unusual, to say the least.
Nothing to review.
All the usual features are here (synopsis, bios, images, and trailer) and there are a few extras as well. There is a Soundboard with more than a dozen audio clips, a video clip with Cain and Abel, a game of Rock, Paper, and Spear, as well as a couple places to submit your own content. You can write the dialogue for a video clip, or you can come up with your own, You're So Year One jokes. Overall it's a solid site, and clearly the best on this week's list, but it doesn't stand out enough to be a contender for the Weekly Website Award.
