Per Theater Chart Empties Out

There wasn't a single film to reach $10,000 on the per theater chart at the weekend.
Slumdog Millionaire led the way with $7,562, which is a better average than the film has earned in three of the five past weekends, despite expanding to the widest it has ever been by a large margin.
The best of the new releases was Of Time and the City, which opened with $5,595 in one theater. Donkey Punch and Killshot struggled with $2,372 and $2,148 respectively. Outlander bombed with an average of just $736 in 81 theaters, but it has a shot at earning some success on the home market. On the other hand, the less said about Dog Eat Dog and its $80 weekend box office the better.
