Despicable Me completed its climb to the top of the international chart with $27.03 million on 4751 screens in 40 markets for totals of $170.27 million internationally and $417.32 million worldwide. This week's openings include the U.K., where it topped the chart with $5.81 million on 522 screens, which is a good result, but not a great result. It placed second in Italy with less money at $4.86 million on 544 screens, but ironically, this is a better result due to the relative size of the two markets and it only placed second due to a massive local hit. Meanwhile, the film was down just 23% in France adding $3.57 million on 657 screens for a two-week total of $8.82 million. It was down 35% in Spain, but remained in first place with $2.25 million on 542 screens over the weekend and $8.27 million in total. The film is running out of places to open in, but by this time next week it should have $200 million internationally, while $500 million worldwide is still the main goal.

Eat Pray Love slipped to second place with $13.38 million on 3943 screens in 64 markets for a total of $86.79 million, which is a little ahead of what it made here. No major market openings hurt, but the film did add $2.13 million on 330 screens over the weekend in Australia for a total of $7.05 million after two.

The Social Network shot into third place with $12.97 million on 1767 screens in 18 markets for a still early total of $17.54 million. Openings this week include the U.K., where it placed second with $3.94 million on 394 screens, while it also earned second place in Spain with $1.84 million on 339. It placed third in France, but was still strong at $3.41 million on 342 screens. Meanwhile in Germany, it was down just 16% to $2.00 million on 362 screens giving it $5.53 million after two weeks of release.

Legend Of The Guardians: The Owls Of Ga'Hoole added $9.40 million on 4128 screens in 44 markets to its international total of $40.90 million. The film bombed in Germany with just $1.14 million on 435 screens, earning sixth place in the process. In actually earned more during its second weekend in Brazil, adding $1.31 million on 227 screens for a total of $5.15 million.

Speaking of Brazil, Elite Squad 2 remained in top spot in its home market with $7.36 million on 661 screens giving it a total of $25.08 million after just two weeks of release. This is more than twice as much as the original finished with back in 2007.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps slipped to sixth place with $7.21 million on 3969 screens in 60 markets for a total of $49.36 million after four weeks of release. The film's only major opening was in China where it debuted in first place with $2.2 million, but that was on 1200 screens. Additionally, it was down 62% in the U.K. to just $1.07 million on 442 screens over the weekend for a total of $4.89 million after two.

Detective Dee: Mystery Of The Phantom Flame managed seventh place with $6.44 million on 960 screens in 8 markets for a total of $45.48 million after just three weeks of release. Andy Lau's latest cost $13 million to make, which is sizeable for a Chinese film, but unless it cost more than that for prints and advertising, it has broken even.

The Town returned to the chart in eighth place with $6.16 million on 1613 screens in 19 markets for a total of $27.37 million after a month of release. It opened in second place in Australia with $2.01 million on 260 screens.

For the third weekend in a row, Benvenuti Al Sud remained in first place in Italy, this time earning $6.04 million on 556 screens. So far it has pulled in $25.57 million in just three weeks, which is more than Shrek Forever After earned and it is closing in on Alice in Wonderland.

Arthur and the War of the Two Worlds opened in first place in France with $5.95 million on 778 screens, while it added another $65,000 on 13 screens in Switzerland. This is a sizeable drop from its predecessor, which managed $9 million last year, while it is only about half as much as the original opened with.

Resident Evil: Afterlife fell out of the top ten with $5.98 million on 2722 screens in 50 markets; however, this was an important week, as its running tally hit $208.78 million internationally. None of the rest of the films in the franchise came close to that mark worldwide. This film's worldwide total has reached $268.51 million, which is more than the first two films earned combined. It has nearly fallen out of the top ten in Japan, so it will likely not make more in that market than it did over here, but it has come close with $54.47 million after six weeks of release.

Red opened in 12th place with $5.53 million on 1104 screens in 9 markets. Much of this was earned in Russia, where it placed first with $3.24 million on 583 screens. That's a good start, but Russia is a hard market to judge and not a safe one to use for future predictions.

If we look further down the list we find Inception in 15th place with $3.71 million on 1890 screens in 41 markets for a total of $534.75 million internationally and $824.50 million worldwide. By this time next week it should surpass Independence Day for 25th place on the all-time chart, but that could be as far as it goes.
