Square is Hip on the Per Theater Chart
April 13, 2010
No film earned more than $10,000 on the per theater chart, but The Square came the closest with an average of $8,546 in two theaters. Meanwhile, When You're Strange: A Film About The Doors was right behind with an average of $8,354 in eight theaters. That's enough to suggest that other theater owners will be willing to book these films in the coming weeks.
The next best new limited release was well behind. Women Without Men debuted with an average of $4,801 in three theaters. La Mission struggled with just under $50,000 in 15 theaters for an average of $3,270. After Life earned close to $60,000, but that was in more than 40 theaters. Its average was just $1,462. Valley of the Hearts Delight was even weaker, earning an average of just $1,291 in four theaters.
This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theater Charts alumni:
