Per Theater Chart: Senna Races to the Top
August 16, 2011
Senna easily won the race to the top of the per theater chart with an average of $36,749 in two theaters. The next best was way back, as CornerStore earned $12,743 in its lone theater. The only other film in the $10,000 club was The Help at $10,278.
The best of the rest of the new limited release was Over Your Cities Grass Will Grow, which earned $7,272 over the weekend and $11,305 since Wednesday in its one theater. Aarakshan was the widest limited release earning $340,000 in 91 theaters for an average of $3,767. It was a wide release, compared to the average Bollywood film, which explains the middling average. Littlerock, on the other hand, only opened in one theater and made just $1,120.
