Per Theater Chart is Left Out in the Cold
February 8, 2011
Like last week, only one film reached the $10,000 mark on the per theater chart this past weekend. That film was Cold Weather, which beat my expectations, earning $14,513 in one theater ahead of its VOD demand later this week.
A few other new limited releases came out this week, but none were particularly strong performers at the box office. Into Eternity managed $3,530 over the weekend and $4,679 including Wednesday and Thursday in its lone theater. The Other Woman was close behind with $3,112 in two theaters, but with its cast, it should have performed a lot better, at least during its opening weekend. Waiting for Forever was just on the other side of $3,000 with an average of $2,972 in three theaters.
This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theater Chart alumni:
