Per Theater Chart: Master of the Per Theater Chart

The Grandmaster was top film on the Per Theater Chart with an average of $18,945 in seven theaters. I thought Short Term 12 would win, but it finished in second place with an average of $14,052 in four. With reviews that are nearly unanimously positive, it will likely have very strong legs.
There are a few other new limited releases that we have numbers for, including Drinking Buddies. That film just missed the $10,000 mark with an average of $9,753 in two theaters. Una Noche did okay with an average of $5,731 in three theaters. The Trials of Muhammad Ali earned $2,980 in one theater. Finally, Savannah missed the Mendoza Line with an average of $1,221 in 14 theaters. On the positive side, it does feature a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, which is the breed of dog one of the people at The Numbers own, so every once and a while during our weekly business call, we will hear them barking the in background.
