"Failed Franchises" Movies
Either movies that were made as part of a planned franchise, but failed to get a finale. Or sequels that performed so badly compared to the first film that any attempt to make additionally sequels ended. When it comes to planned franchises, there has to be a plan to start with. For example, it was also part of the plan to film all four books in The Divergent Series, but that didn't happen. On the other hand, the latter books in Chronicles of Narnia get a little too weird to adapt, so the plan was always to end the franchise prematurely.
