Another week without a first run release that stands out and the limited releases, classics, and TV on DVD aren't able to fill in the gap. There were a couple of releases that piqued my interest, including Ace in the Hole - Criterion Collection and Yo-Yo Girl Cop, but neither really climb to the level of DVD Pick of the Week.

Journey from the Fall led the per theater charts this weekend with $99,080 in 6 theaters for an average of $16,513; its average fell less than 25% despite playing in 50% more theaters.
The only other film to top $10,000 was Killer of Sheep which earned $26,154 in 2 theaters during its re-release for an average of $13,077.

Awesome. We are finally getting some major updates to the summer blockbuster movies. The ones people are watching to see if they break records. This includes the first half of the massively interactive website for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - Official Site. And while the site isn't done yet, it is still more than enough to win the Weekly Website Award.

More than half a dozen limited releases this weekend, including an Oscar nominated foreign language film and a re-release of a 30-year old landmark film of Black cinema. There's certain something for just about everyone, but no seem like sure things for box office success.
