Synopsis

After the death of her estranged mother, a young woman returns home to the economically savaged, small West Texas town of Bent Arrow and is forced to take custody of her 10 year-old, half-sister that she has never met. Faced with a jaunting past, an abusive ex-boyfriend, and a crippling addiction, she finds the courage to find her identity through her little sister's best friend, an eccentric ex-pro football player who left it all behind, to a simple life of painting and selling watercolor postcards on the side of the road and singing to his horse. As Bent Arrow struggles to survive, the locals find refuge at the last remaining oasis; Jack-o-lopes where they hang their hats, on the last hook of hope.
